The Preliminary Instruction Book for the TBX-4 dated 11/19/1942 shows the unit equipped with a Net Switch.

  Here's the -4a, which is, I think, same as -5. Why they named it -4a, I have no idea.

    On my TBX-4 there's a single bat handle toggle switch, arranged to switch left and right. Below it is the label ON-OFF and above it NET.  Certainly a momentary switch would do the same thing if the circuit hasn't been altered.
