Definitely there were USAAF support aircraft with 12-vdc systems in wartime service.  They would typically carry the SCR-187-A HF liaison set (BC-224-*, BC-191-A), an SCR-Ax-183 HF command set, and (in the ETO) an SCR-542-A VHF command set.
