Well, had a fellow ask what I thought would be some good freqs to claim for milsurp, but the problem is the disparity between milsurp folks with different license classes. If everybody was Extra, we would have a better shot on a claim in the extra band out of the crowd. A random choice would be something with the last digits the same, 1940, 3740, 7140(Advance segment) ,10.140, something like that. Perhaps doing what those on the Amphone email chain do, especially on 15 and 10, they announce the band is open, and listen on such and such for me. I know a few are on 60 meters with USB, but hoping to get the more vintage stuff out there.

Brian, KN4R reported what he heard on a internet broadcast from the new ARRL monitor group, and a specific question was asked of Riley about vintage and milsurp gear. He said by all means, put them on the air and use them, and transmitter with unique characteristics, i.e, chirp, these are not the target of the new organization. Riley has a vintage TX he is getting up and running too. So maybe the ARRL's wish for us all to be typing on the air and letting the computer do everything, will hold off for a while.
