The PCR series of receivers were produced by Pye Radio works Ltd in Cambridge from 1944 onward. Think they were intended as a invasion receiver for general broadcast orders and later used as an entertainment receiver.

As receivers go its nothing special being built into the same case as a WS-19 and using a separate AC or 12 volt DC supply. It covers LW, broadcast band and some of the SW band and lacks a BFO.

I own a PCR-2 and know there was a PCR-1 that had an internal speaker on the receiver along with a PCR-3 that as far as I know did not have an internal speaker just like the PCR-2

This radio has not been modified or changed in any other way and was thinking that it would be no big deal to cut a hole in the front of the chassis and install a speaker with grill cloth but a couple questions come up.

First was the PCR-2 ever provided with the internal speaker like the PCR-1? Did the PCR-3 ever come with internal speaker?

If there were PCR-2 receivers that had internal speakers installed I would like to go ahead and install one in this set. Had thought of installing a speaker in the external power supply that I will build for the receiver but the original power cable and quick disconnect that came with the radio dose not extend the audio so would have to use a second cable for the audio.
