[Milsurplus] TV7 Type 83 rectifer replacement

I will most likely get poked at for saying this, there are solid state  
replacements, for this tube?

The are on Epay from time to time.  I have 2;  never used.

This may reduce the quantity of heat being generated to keep your tester 
nice and toasty ;-]

I have been waiting for my 83 to die it just wont, Made by timeX.
