[Milsurplus] Little more on SSR-202

The manual I have for the SSR-202 is about 12 pages. For the SX-28, it only deals with the necessary mods to work with MC-2.
So the manual is actually almost entirely on the MC-2.
I have loaned the manual to a fellow member of the PSARA club in Seattle. This was a huge exception for me: the only person
I would trust to loan manuals to, was my mother; and now she's gone. I will get a high quality scan in return, and also he will
have a chance to squint at the receiver's nameplates in the photo before any scanning. The SX-28 in this set would seem to be
the 'standard version'; there's no reason at all for a single output tube or MFP treatment. The fellow in Seattle seems to
say that the McLaughlin products went up to MC-4, and he has an MC-3 himself.
Many thanks to Brian Harrison for pointing out that "SSR" means "Special Surveillance Receiver". When I finally submit some
info to the author of that book, "Communications Receivers 1942 to Present", that will be a very worthwhile data point to
include.
In return for this loan, I am getting a bunch of 'Northern Radio' ( Seattle ) advertising leaflets for their vacuum - tube era
radios. Oh boy, oh boy !! I had this crazy thought, when I get a bunch of Northern photos and data together, maybe I could do
an article for E.R. - and if Ray agreed, they could have a cover blurb like "Northern Radio Catalog Included in this Issue!", the
way the old 73 Magazine special issues used to do it.
