[Milsurplus] Hallicrafters SSR-202

The SSR-202 was not tropicalized ( MFP ). I'll have a photo of the nameplated receiver soon. The surveillance SX-28 was maybe one the FCC used in their mobile DF cars. 
The same  fellow I spoke about, Jim Barrows W7BCT ( SK ), spoke about cruising down the Oregon coast, early in the war, in an FCC car, listening, or trying to listen for 
Japanese submarine radio comms. As you may surmise, this was a wasted effort and was discontinued. 
Japanese SW broadcasts were recorded at Portland  or Seattle and the disks sent back to Washington D.C. for analysis.
I don't know if they took down the Japanese news service CW transmissions too.
