So you had the modified SX-28 and the MC-2 ?

Almost...

I have two SX-28s. One is a typical general coverage receiver, but with
the dial clamp removed, and is in a beat up National cabinet, the other,
is a very military looking job with some mods, armored power cord with
metal military power connector, added ground wire, and new data plate.
Everything behind the faceplate is under a thick layer of that
green/yellow anti-fungal conformal coating. That one is in a relay
rack. The one in the National case is on a shelf in the garage, buried.
I can see the side, and the face, but would be hard to pull out. The
relay rack job is far too back to get to. From what I recall, there was
either a large connector, or some extra barrier strips on the back of
that one. The fellow I bought it from said it was a "Surveillance
radio", and reversed some of the mods. It's been a long time, but I
recall some hacking inside.

I never had a nice cabinet like that, but made one with a shelf, and
speaker/antenna control in a blank aluminum plate to control the
hallicrafters, an R-390, and a Hammarlund SP600 in the mid-80's. That
portion should still be in the relay rack in the back of the shop, the
390 was sold in the late 90's.

The hallicrafters speaker, like the one shown in the image, without a
escutcheon, I have something like six of those.

The chair, if Military issue, I had one of identical design, got it from
my Grandfathers house when he passed away in 1987, he was Meteorologist
in the Army Air Corp, and when Mom came to visit in 2018, she brought up
a lot of his WWII items, and there were some signal corps items as well.
The chair was a dark green color with brown wood around the arms, and
legs, and we were always under the impression it was Military issue, so
he probably told us that at some time.

No, I do not have an MC-2 selector that I am aware of.

Radios, speakers, yes, chair, no more, cabinet, no, selector, no.

Kurt
