What about the BC-344 and the RBM MF receivers?

Cheap? For either one? Not possible unless you happen to find one hidden away at an SK estate.
For one thing, there were only something like 1000 R-389s built, and all for the Army (why the Army, I never could figure out).
The last R-389 I sold went for something like $1500.00 plus shipping.
I had three at one time, and kept the worst, most incomplete, one of the bunch...and it is NOT for sale and never will be until after I am SK.
R-390s are also difficult to find. There weren't that many of them made.
R-390As are a bit more easily found, but still command a high price. Plus, you must replace a critical capacitor before you ever fire one up so you don't destroy the mechanical filters.
