[Milsurplus] Batteries for dynamotor use ?

I had a 28 vdc 20 amp switcher that
I used to run the Dyno in an old radio.

It was fun listening to it rev up as
the switcher ran the voltage up and
down until the Dyno got up to speed.

Never seemed to harm anything.
