1962 Navy MARS established.
 - Did the Navy start handing out equipment to Army MARS members? Maybe
not.
-  Does anyone know when Navy gear started getting handing out via MARS?

I am sticking to my theory about a Hallicrafters salesman taking a BuShips
guy out to a 4-martini lunch......
