Uncommon radio. I have one each MAK and MO-1, both in good working order.. Used the MAK to very good effect at net control during the Military Field Days I used to run at Fort MacArthur..
Subject unit appears to be missing the receiver front end peaking variable. Also, the remaining “chicken head” knobs may not be original.
These radios also contain a serious design flaw that will result in circuit failure under prolonged operation. When the PTT switch on the microphone is released the current flow through the Heising
modulation reactor is abruptly interrupted and NO provision to absorb the resulting voltage “kick" was included in the original design of the radio. The result is that there has to be an arc-over somewhere in
the transmitter wiring. In my MAK this was occurring off the PA plate cap over to an adjacent chassis frame bracket. Between or around the closely spaced pins of the power input connector is another
likely location, note that the modulation reactor is mounted down on the power supply chassis, not in the radio cabinet. I came up with a fix that delays turn-off of the modulator tubes which then absorb the kick. Details on request.

I have an original 12V dynamotor supply and have built up an AC supply for fixed plant use.

The subject example is certainly worth the effort to restore IMHO. I have an original manual and would be glad to provide additional information upon request.
