That reminds me of standing near a hamfest table 15 years ago where a woman was selling off her deceased husband's gear.  She had an extraordinarily reasonable well below market price on an R-390A that looked 100 percent complete including covers, in very clean condition.

A dirtbag came over shortly after the hamfest opened and talked her down yet another couple hundred dollars.  Then he took it to his table and put a price that was more than double what he paid the widow.

In almost 50 years a ham, I've met more opportunistic dirtbags and dishonest small-time crooks with call signs at hamfests than I've met at any other public gathering,
