There's a vehicle enthusiast fellow named Robin who shows up at the Rickreall hamfest and some others in Oregon. He generally sets up and has a display also.
He showed a small Link radio, about the size of a U.S. Army field phone case; the canvas cover had an identifiable U.S. Marine unit marking. I don't remember
more about the thing, like its type number. With the small size, it must have been some kind of superregen set.
Robin generally sniffs about looking for some of the kind of thing we look for. I'd rather see hams getting it, but he has also been a good buyer for Brad and me,
buying such things as TCS and BC-312s.
He had some things for sale on his table once. I recall a TBX, and NOT an extraordinarily nice one, marked something like $750. An MAB was marked something
like $500. I thought, "Man, has he got the wrong venue!" Ah yes, "Buy low, sell high", but not sell high at the same hamfest. We are cheapskates.

Comco went on to build land mobile radio gear, I had the misfortune of having to keep some of it going for a construction company in the late 60s. I say misfortune with a qualification. The Comco was an OK two-way radio, but they didn't have quite the ruggedness and reputation of a Motorola or General Electric, so the people using them beat on them hard and I had to keep piecing them back together. Does anyone know if Link made any radio gear for the military, they also made two-way radios in the late 40s.
