[Milsurplus] "Foam In Place" Packing

Wrong again!  <grin>  Even occasionally use peanuts but I put them in WalMart bags to hold them together.  Usually put any electronics in either plastic garbage bags or wrap it in blue plastic film when I use peanuts.  Even save and cut down the Styrofoam packing material that is molded into odd shapes.  If I can, I double box larger pieces.
I even have gone as far as to make custom plywood boxes for small heavy transformers and motors.  The plywood box fits snuggly into a cardboard box that is on hand, the idea is to prevent the part from moving during shipment.  Seems to work OK.Jim

All of our cargo is cushion with large, air filled bags and stiff, crushable cardboard Matrix.  There is, of course, that white styrofoam formed stuff you see inside computer and television and Appliance boxes, in each one of the individual pieces. But the cargo as a whole is cushioned by   captive and and crushables. It has to work, or we lose money from damaged cargo. And it does work. Again, God bless you if you love that blue stuff. But I've never seen a single cargo load cushioned with it or anything like it. I just don't trust it.      ______________________________________________________________
