I've worked with the railroad for almost 20 years now. A lot of cargo gets a lot of shock in a railroad car. All of our cargo is cushion with large, air filled bags and stiff, crushable cardboard Matrix.  There is, of course, that white styrofoam formed stuff you see inside computer and television and Appliance boxes, in each one of the individual pieces. But the cargo as a whole is cushioned by   captive and and crushables. It has to work, or we lose money from damaged cargo. And it does work. Again, God bless you if you love that blue stuff. But I've never seen a single cargo load cushioned with it or anything like it. I just don't trust it.
