I concur that DHL is a reliable international shipper. I used them to ship circuit boards to/from our engineers in China and other packages to/from Haiti. Each package was receipted at the destination.

Hi
If you look at the guys shipping higher value stuff out of China, a lot of them have gone over to DHL for
the exact reasons you list. It costs a fortune for the guy paying the shipping, but it is easier
for the seller. DHL also gives the seller a really good “proof of delivery” process.
No I don’t work for DHL. I never have shipped anything out with them. I do seem to get boxes delivered
to the front door by them on a regular basis.

Last time I tried it took me over an hour and when I got to the post office they told me I had done it wrong and had to pay again. I had to apply to the local postmaster for a refund which I never got so that sale actually cost me money, time, and the item.

Time is something I don't have a lot of right now and I barely sell on eBay at all due to lack of time and no way I'll sell international without some such program in place.

It is a "convienent" way to ship things. If you watch how you post things you can usually avoid their traps. First clue is when you list, you may get a warning that the particular item cannot be shipped through global shipping. This seems to occur when you list in certain categories. When you get that sort of warning, just go back and change the category. The second caution is to never have the word "military" in the heading for your listing. Also, I think there may be some size and weight restrictions in that system. I'm not a big time eBay seller, or fan either for that matter, but if you want to sell things, it is by far the largest audience.

>>> i bought though ebay a very good example of a russian receiver R311 built in 1964, 1 to 15 mhz from american milspec ,the global shipping program decided that it was a restricted export please alert any people that you know as sellers on ebay to 'opt out' of using the ebay global shipping program with any sort of russian radio or any old military radio listing . as it may be deemed a restricted export and disappear. just thought all of you would like the warning.
