[Milsurplus] OT:ebays global shipping program warning

By "confiscated" I meant that they (eBay global shipping) "bought" the
equipment. The buyer got a full refund, and I (the seller) kept what the
buyer had paid me. I guess it is all part of how BigBrother is removing all
this dangerious war material from circulation. There wasn't any route of
appeal that I could use the recover either piece of gear.

By confiscated you mean that neither the buyer nor the seller ever saw the
ART-13 speech amplifier again? Did eBay refund the purchase price or did the
seller forfit?
I have always used the "ship it yourself" option and have never had a
problem. Ounce a buyer from Brazil had to wait quite a long time for
shipping since he wanted the least expensive shipping method but the radio
did finally arrive. An added benefit is that Customs forms are automatically
filled out if you pay for shipping through eBay.
I usually add a few ounces to the shipping weight, it seems that some of the
Post Office scales are a bit off at times. This only happened once and after
I pointed that out, the problem was corrected.Jim

After having an ART-13 speech amplifier and the receiver section of a WS-52
confiscated by the Global shipping program, I did a little looking at the
program. It is a "convienent" way to ship things. If you watch how you
post things you can usually avoid their traps. First clue is when you list,
you may get a warning that the particular item cannot be shipped through
global shipping. This seems to occur when you list in certain categories.
When you get that sort of warning, just go back and change the category. The
second caution is to never have the word "military" in the heading for your
listing. Also, I think there may be some size and weight restrictions in
that system. I'm not a big time eBay seller, or fan either for that matter,
but if you want to sell things, it is by far the largest audience.
