It is an RA-20-A or B. Used in the MRC-2 which had two modified BC-342 sets for dual diversity. Second tube is an OA-2 VR tube for regulated 150 volts to HF
osc, mixer screen, and CW osc. Second cap is a spare but kept forming voltage on it to be ready for use.

Subject : RE: [Milsurplus] BC-342 Modification Question

I just saw a BC-342 on ebay that has a curious modification to the power supply (two tubes and two caps). Does anyone know what it is? I'm curious because I
saw a BC-342 a few weeks ago with exactly the same modification and assumed it was some ham modification, but I now think I may be wrong.
Thanks.
