Funny - i was just last night looking at a BC-342, the cleanest one i
have ever seen, wondering how i should price it, and i noticed on the
back,
in the upper right corner - facing back of set - a cutout with the same
exact shape as the one in this Ebay photo. However - there is no 4-pin
connector facing out from the rec chassis - you see inside only the flat
metal of the radio chassis. Also i noticed that there's a toggle switch
on back, in the PS area. Does this mean the cabinet was originally on
one of the diversity type moded receivers?
I was surprised at how smoothly the tuning action on this particular
receiver is. None of that 'gearteeth' feel.

It is an RA-20-A or B. Used in the MRC-2 which had two modified BC-342
sets for dual diversity. Second tube is an OA-2 VR tube for regulated
150 volts to HF
osc, mixer screen, and CW osc. Second cap is a spare but kept forming
voltage on it to be ready for use.
