The SCR-583 is a very interesting 1942 set operating from 2200 to 4600 kHz continuous, but supplied standard also with crystal-controlled receive and transmit channels for 2700, 3010, 3825, and 3995 kHz.

Unless you have looked into this set, I guarantee that you've never seen a set just like this before.  There are two crude preliminary manuals with photos found at Chris Story's wonderful growing archive:

The two manuals are one for Philco and one for Farnsworth, and there are a lot of electrical and mechanical differences between those two SCR-583 sets.

Take a look!  These must have always been very rarely seen.
