[Milsurplus] "Mill" typewriter question

The MILLS we have on the WW2 Submarine USS COD SS-224 are
one-size, uppercase only.
 
In fact, if you look at the hammers with the type on them, there is
only one letter impressed on them.
 
The Shift key only operates the top row of keys with the figures over
the numerals.
