Hi

So, with a 64K limit, most (modern) pictures are going to get nuked at that price…. Yes you 
get a benefit from compression. A chunk of that benefit is lost when you translate it to a format
that the mail system is happy with. Typically you have to worry starting at about 48K after compression.
