In earlier years here out west, the ARR-2 definitely was not scarce, either
in surplus stores or from the West Coast catalog surplus sellers.
In earlier years, they were reckoned next to worthless and I disassembled
several myself. For some reason, it was only years later, when
I discovered some troves of RUGF equipment, that I saw the ARR-1 and ZB.
I think I have 2 of the ARR-1 receivers, or ZB, with their covers, but no
control boxes or accessories of any kind, that are in the to-sell stack.
There was a surplus and junk store in South Seattle, seems to me it was in
the old massive brick former Rainier Brewery building,
that had an unused YG transmitter for years. I'm sure they wanted too much
for it, and I'm sure no one else wanted it, so I'm pretty
sure it just went to the scrap metal cauldron when the area was redeveloped,
I guess that would be 1980s.
