I just picked my second ARC-2 transceiver and this time I was rewarded with a
Dynamotor, the unit is very clean, but the bearing grease needs to be replaced.
Below is the instructions found inside one of the end covers. Am I correct to
assume the “Do not pack bearings” refers to bearings that are a few years newer
and don’t need a complete flushing? Also can these bearings be clean with brake
cleaner (spray) and forced lubed in place?
Thanks,
Terry

INSTRCTIONS FOR LUBRICATING DYNAMOTOR
This machine is shipped from the factory lubricated with a
sufficient amount of grease for approximately 1000 hours of
operation or six mos. of ordinary service. To lubricate
remove bearing covers and apply enough Andok “C” grease
as mtg. by Standard Oil Co. of N. J. to cover the bearings.
Do not pack bearings.
