[Milsurplus] Lubing Connectors

I cannot get the connectors to mate easily more than about 1/16" w/o
applying a lot of axial force.
I have two connectors of the correct type from two different makers,
Cannon and Aero. The problem is the same.
I have cleaned and polished the pins, because they were originally fairly
oxidized.

Zero. I cannot easily get the connectors mated enough to allow the thread
to engage.

That's been mostly my experience also.

Hence my questions. I'd think a contact lube would be ok.

There are no rubber seals on these connectors.
