The supply line for the Japanese to maintain a fighting force between
Hawaii and the CONUS would be even longer. There would probably have been
time to resupply before there were ships to need it.

Destroying tankage would have been a setback, but by no means fatal. It
takes a lot to completely destroy oil facilities.
