Larry,
Presume you meant that after removing the original cap between the
antenna post and the "hot" end of the antenna coil, then install a
new .01 ufd unit between the antenna post and the other (ground) end
of the coil. And also, then break the ground lead from the coil and
replace it with a .001 ceramic cap. OK, in doing this one would be
essentially feeding the antenna into a tap up on the capitative side
of the resonant circuit. Might work but not sure about the 3-5 db
gain claim. Would also note that selectivity, not sensitivity the big
problem encountered in using command set receivers on the ham bands.
If someone tries this please let us all know how it works out.
