I have been using the DSP sound card sofware running on my computer for 
some dramatic improvements in selectivity. You get a panadapter display 
and some other DSP benefits, at the same time you are using the command 
receiver "as designed". Those programs work with *any* receiver 
including a 1930s regen and a RAK. Their usefulness is not limited to 
YaeComWoodTecCraft radios!
