someone said " I know for me in high school, guidance consulars would drop you like >> a hot potato once they found out you weren't going to college...."
For me, it was the guidance counselors from the technical HS who came around to the neighborhood schools and "recruited" us. There were several of my friends who jumped at the chance for an electronics class. At the technical HS we attended electronics shop was a 1/2 day academic classes were the other 1/2. Out of our neighborhood group of 4...one has been a Motorola commercial radio tech for 40+ years, one worked in the avionics shop for FDX for 40 + years & I went to work for Bell Telephone straight out of HS & retired from the CN/ICRR communications dept. The other kid did get his ham ticket, but went into industrial steam work. But that was then and this is now...
