[Milsurplus] Data call for RU/GF junction box photos

I've had some discussions recently about connectors for the RU/GF series
of command sets, and one of the frequent things that comes up is the
serious confusion over which connectors go with which sets.

In the wisdom of those who made decisions back then (Aircraft Radio
Corporation, apparently), the connectors are not marked with a five
digit Navy number, but with a two or three digit number, like 37 or
133. Obviously, one could go through each of the manuals from the
original RU to RU-19 and ferret out all the numbers, but it occurred to
me that a quicker way might be to solicit photos of each one from folks
out there who might have one of the junction boxes. A phone or Ipad
picture might even be good enough, as long as it is reasonably clear and
I can crop it and still read the numbers. Note that those boxes that
have the resistor doghouse need to be taken from 15 feet or so because
of parallax to see the connector numbers beside the doghouse. To get
this started, I've set up a web page to catalog these photos as they
come in - http://aafradio.org/docs/RU-GF_junction_boxes.html

If there is any interest, I'll do the same for the SCR-183/283 sets,
though some of those never had an official junction box as a part of the
set.

It is probably too much to hope for to get photos of junction boxes for
RU sets down in the low single digits, but you never know. Please send
the photos to this address, along with whether you would like
attribution or not: aaf-radio-1 at aafradio.org

Many thanks for the help,
Mike KC4TOS
