[Milsurplus] What was TRC-1 used for?

The Allies planned for continuing logistal support of the invasion forces
after D-Day. They wanted to rely as little on ships as possible, so went
to things like PLUTO (Pipe Line Under The Ocean) instead of barges or
ships.
This was along this philosophy, I think.
