[Milsurplus] What was TRC-1 used for?

I used AN/TRC-1 at various places in AACS (USAF) from 1947
to 1964.  Have pictures from some I had in Korea on a hill top
near Taegu.  It was part of a Radio Relay system that used the
RF frequencies Bob mentioned.  It was Duplex on Yagi antennas.
The 4-channel voice equipment was the CF-1, and 4-channel
TTY was the CF-2.  Voice channels used EE-8 Ringers.
The transmitter ran hot, so we opened the top and put a larger
fan on it.  These equipments were replaced by the AN/TRC-24
in the early 60's.  They used a Bat-Wing UHF antenna.
The TRC-1 antennas did not have a balanced feed, coax just
went to one side of the driven element.  Unique, but the pattern
was wiggled off to one side because of this.
