[Milsurplus] What was TRC-1 used for?

Hi Bob,
TRC-1 was the first of the "Antrac" radio relay sets. Some of the later
sets moved up to microwaves.
Interesting bit starting on p93 here regarding AN/TRC-1's during the
Normandy invasion:

It was a duplex system, but I don't have any details.
