[Milsurplus] Interesting Tool

It's called a "collet" tool, Joe.  It has a tapered back with a sleeve 
that compresses the four quarters together and grips the nut evenly 
around the periphery.  Many machine tools use them (and they're my 
favorite for the Hardinge because they are a lot safer than a full sized 
three jaw chuck whizzing around in the air a couple inches from your 
hand...)  John is right, their drawback is that they only fit one size.  
I have a full set of them by 1/64" for the lathe.  Just be glad you 
don't have to buy one of those - they run about $60 each...
