Now you've gone and dunnit, Mike.
I've always had a latent interest.
Now I'm digging-out my documents.
Earliest:
U.S. Signal Corps Circular No. 1,
"Radio Telegraphy" published 1914-1915.
Surprise: this has a passage on using
a triode "audion" as a detector.
"Robison's Manual of Radio Telegraphy
and Telephony," U.S. Navy published 1918.
The the scarce 1918 edition of Signal Corps
Radio Pamplet #40 "The Principles Underlying
Radio Communications," not the common 1924 revision.
This one still has spark.
Others from the 1920s and early '30s.
OK ya'll: What are the earliest WWI or pre-WWI
military radio documents or books you
have in the dark corners?
I worked-up a very simple way for a few guys
to QSO each other with this equipment,
authentically and legally. One of these days
I'll try to get someone interested enough
to follow-through on it.
