Know nothing about colors of Navy gear requirements, but a friend of mine
served in the Navy and in his last 2 years of service he was stationed in
Florida, where he maintained radio equipment for the Coast Guard. They used
TCS gear and it was -Black-. He and I communicated for many years via mail
and even sent me a battered copy of the TCS manual for mine then. That was
in the mid/late '60s. (Sold that equipment, sorry now, had a complete set
up with both AC and DC supplies.)

As it is a Depot overhaul I would have thought it would have been repainted
gray. As I thought that was the mandate after the war on radio gear being
used by the Navy. Or is that my misunderstanding.
Thanks
