[Milsurplus] GRC-9 Power supply Question

I've had better success with running the current through the contacts
also, rather than just through the coil. I hook up the unit and whack it
some in various directions to get it started the first time. The high
applied voltage is enough to burn through the contact film, once a bit of
wiping action starts.
