Bill:

Robert can correct me, but I think those dials are baked enamel. If so, a light application of acetone will remove the spray paint without attacking the dial or calibration. Should also work on the knobs and cases if you are careful.

All,

  I recently acquired a BC-453 (190-550 kc) and a BC-946 (520-1500 kc) in a
three receiver rack. Just one small problem, they were spray painted silver.

I mean everything was painted silver; rack, connectors, dynamotors, knobs
and even the dials.

Does anyone have a dial from a parts rig for these radios?

Thanks,

            Bill KA8WTK
