[Milsurplus] FW: Command Set Dials

I did try this question on the MRCA and did receive several suggestions.
However, nothing normal (acetone, lacquer thinner, Goof Off, etc.) has
touched the silver paint on the dial. The only thing I found that would take
off the paint from the case cover was a paint stripper containing methylene
chloride and methanol. I hesitate to use this on the dials unless it really
is a baked on finish.

Bill:

Robert can correct me, but I think those dials are baked enamel. If so, a
light application of acetone will remove the spray paint without attacking
the dial or calibration. Should also work on the knobs and cases if you are
careful.

All,

  I recently acquired a BC-453 (190-550 kc) and a BC-946 (520-1500 kc) in a
three receiver rack. Just one small problem, they were spray painted silver.

I mean everything was painted silver; rack, connectors, dynamotors, knobs
and even the dials.

Does anyone have a dial from a parts rig for these radios?

Thanks,

            Bill KA8WTK
