Real quick:
In Korea we had a ration called Ten-In-One that fed
three meals per day to a few of us. It was mostly in
gallon size cans, and had to be cooked. Like we had
to make a stove and some sharp sticks to cook with.
The food was OK, but someone had to be the cook.
Water was always a problem if it was a distance to it.
In Alaska in the mid-50's C Rations were served in the
mess halls on occasion in order to rotate the stock.
Many of us who went camping or hunting could get
these C Rations for free, but a case at a time.
In Germany in the late 40's we were issued K Rations
when on the road, or traveling by train. Three cigarettes
were in each box. And, enough K Ration boxes put
into a pile made a nice fire. OK, next subject?
