[Milsurplus] RAS Set-Up Drowned...PW dial??

My RAS-2 does not have any holes in the dial.

FWIW, it's serial number is in the low 300s with an acceptance date of 
4-22-41.

Mine is missing the frame and speaker, and but for
shipping, and the resulting orphan radio taking up
space,  this auction would be tempting.

One question though, even though the radio was
made by National, and carries CNA numbers,
the contractor is listed as "General Electric Supply Co.
Washington DC".

What was this entity, and how did they fit into the procurement
picture?
