[Milsurplus] RAS Set-Up Drowned...PW dial??

How sad....the black knob on the PW dial looks to have 2 holes in it....or is it an illusion? If they are holes where they used to stick your finger and twirl the dial?? I have a RAS-5 and it does not have these 2 holes...if the holes really exist were they on the earlier sets such as this RAS-2?
