Many ways to approach that including using the dynamotor base/mounts as the
power plug for the receiver.

There have been some discussions on successfully running the receivers on
24VDC or so (including using this as the B+ voltage) - may need to boost the
audio outboard. The benefit is most of the receivers either have failing
capacitors or they will fail under real B+ voltage. At 24VDC they'll
typically function OK. It seems bee's wax deteriorates over time...

You'll probably find several caps in the transmitter and dynamotor which
will have a similar issue and will have to be replaced. The folks here have
outlined several approaches to rebuilding these in a manner that the
equipment looks stock.

Subject: [Milsurplus] ARC5 and Rack Mount/Plugs

I'd like to purchase a rack mount and plugs for an ARC-5 receiver,
transmitter, and modulator. Please contact me via private email at
wb4mak at nfarl.org .

I was generously given a set of ARC-5 for 40M. These are essentially NOS
since they are absolutely pristine and the receiver even has the matching
serial number cardboard box. I absolutely will not hack up these radios to
get power/signals to them. I plan to use an external power supply instead of

the dynamotors.

If you have a suggestion on how to get the required power and signals into
the rigs without hacking them up then please advise. I do have all the docs
in including the old CQ pamphlet on the ARC-5.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
