[Milsurplus] German Vehicle Frame Antenna

To be clear: of course i do not dispute the use of a frame antenna,

or "Dachantenna" or whatever the manual calls it. That would be

like disputing the use of camouflage. I mean, the antenna was not

a magnetic loop antenna (in the same family as the current MFJ-1786

type loop antennas.) My contention is that the frame was used as a

simple high capacity, capacity hat type thing. I see no evidence that:

the antenna was loaded at 2 points insulated from ground; or that the

transmitters used with it, 100WS, 80WS, or 30WS, had any matching

unit other than the typical output system to match short antennas.

(BTW, i have a "Sternantenna" - didn't dare unfold it because i don't

know how to do it, and don't want to break anything. But i should sell

it - doesn't look like i will be buying a German tank - would be hard to

park in front of my apartment - altho i wouldn't have to worry about it

being "doored". -H M )
