I'm currently working on a couple of PRC10 radio's that are in dire need of a good alignment.
They have been treated with a laquer or varnish to protect the insides from moisture and fungus, however I found that whoever did the work was not too carefull, they look beautiful, but all the alignment capacitors are seized solid, the laquer has wicked along the spindles and acts as avery efficient thread locker.
I have tried to free them by carefully dripping some paint stripper on them,no luck,it is just too thick to soak into the threaded part.
Has anybody run into this problem and what solvent could be used to free the little spindles up?
Thank you,
