CW was not a normal mode for those command sets. As it was
said, AM voice was the designed use. But there were circumstances
where CW could be necessary. First was the tuning process, then
for transmitting a signal for direction finding, then for modulator failure,
then use of "Q" and "Z" signals when required. Nothing wrong with
Chirp. Some BC-375 operators thought that the CW was easier to
copy, and it did identify the sender in a net. I found that the tuning
of the transmitter and antenna had more effect on chirp than the
relay sequence did.
