[Milsurplus] Paypal Farce

Well, Ben, I had a different result.

Seller shipped an article that didn't fit my motorcycle. After a couple
of weeks attempting to get a response from the seller, I initiated a
claim with PayPal. After they apparently were unable to contact the
seller, I received a refund of the $20 or so that I had paid for the item.

Perhaps PayPal UK operates under different rules?

Well, seems all the hype Paypal and Ebay spout about themselves is pure bunkum.

Having received an item, paid for using Paypal, which turned out to be not as advertised I made a claim.

Paypals reply:

Our investigation into the following transaction is complete. As stated inour User Agreement, the claims process only applies to the delivery ofgoods. It does not apply to complaints about the attributes or quality ofgoods received. Therefore, we are unable to reverse this transaction orissue a refund.

So, apparently, Paypal are quite happy to give your money away for any rubbish, whatever it is, so long as you receive it. Now, I don't know about you but that's what I call 'Protection'!!.

I intend taking the matter to the UK Trading Standards. I suggest anyone else (in the UK) does the same and those in other countries contact their consumer agencies.

The seller?, a chap in Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, Australia. BEWARE.

Ben.
