Well, this sorta makes my point: if the Boulevard
set had been AC-transformer powered, it would not
have used 2x 6L6 in the audio. Probably not even
2x 6V6 or 6F6, altho possibly. Perhaps they used
a second 25L6 just to burn up voltage. The lower
down the chain of AC-DC's of course, the more
apparent the wattage wastage is apparent. Thus
you get some truly awful towering inferno tubes
with the 50 and 60 volt heaters.  -Hue
