Group,

It should include Ham Modifications. Many times at hamfest, sitting under a
table I have found a butchered ARC 5 Transmitter, or other piece equipment,
and bought the same for a few bucks usually 5 bucks or under. Upon getting
it on the bench, many times found a mod right out of CQ, QST, or one of the
surplus conversion manuals. One recent addition was a ARC 5 conversion to
40 meter sideband. It works fine business. Newer hams who would come
across this may not have this old conversion information available. This
old converted equipment is still fun to get back on the air and put to use.
For this reason, it should be available to the milsurplus collector.
Pristine unmodified equipment is not easy to find. Some times with the
modifications documented, it can be reversed.
